Detroit Radiator Corporation Show Truck Driver

A Detroit Radiator Corporation “DR·COOL” Show Truck Driver is responsible for the transportation, maintenance, and mobile marketing unit actives at HD trucking industry events.

THE WORK ENVIRONMENT
Main reporting location for work will be at Detroit Radiator Corporation’s shop location: 3220 Highway 31, S Building R, Decatur AL 35603. In addition, Show Truck Driver will be required to travel to approximately 15-20 trucking industry events a year throughout the US.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Show Truck Driver will get direction and must follow instructions given by CEO. Once on event site, Show Truck Driver may get direction from others regarding safety, retail or marketing/public relations.

Major Duties:
The following list contains many of the duties to be performed but is not all inclusive. They are:

  • Possess current valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
  • Have knowledge and conduct maintenance of tractor and trailer (including knowledge of all laws, regulations and operation of the stated vehicle)
  • Perform pre-trip inspections (correctly complete driver’s log book) and be able to explain what one inspects and why
  • Maneuver and control show truck in a safe fashion, which includes handling show truck on-site and in over-the-road situations, proper signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speeds to road conditions (wet, dry, snow, or ice), and the ability to drive during the daytime or nighttime
  • Safely load and unload all equipment/materials over all terrains, and properly secure all loads
  • Responsible for routine fueling, lubricating

Requirements:

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
A Show Truck Driver must meet the following requirements and standards:

  • Must have and maintain current valid commercial driver’s license, all yearly physicals, and drug screenings
  • Demonstrate ability to load/unload, secure load, obey highway traffic regulations, and deliver equipment and materials in a timely manner as not to delay production on job sites;
  • Must be able to perform pre-trip inspection and properly fill-out DOT log book and fuel record
  • Must be proficient in maintenance of show truck
  • Must have reliable transportation and show-up to work on time every day scheduled
  • Must have show- up with show truck to work at event on time every day scheduled
  • Must be willing to travel to any and all events without exception (including staying away from home if necessary)
  • Must comply with all company safety and personnel policies
  • Must be able to lift and carry 100 lbs
  • Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, lift overhead, work at heights, walk/work
  • Must be able to perform all necessary exhibit setup and teardown tasks at shows
